So my face is peeling off right now like Gold Member-- no biggie. Especially considering it is the outcome from an extraordinary weekend back home! Seriously, there is nothing better than a holiday weekend spent with friends and family-- totally got me recharged and ready to go back to work. Okay so maybe I was incredibly exhausted there for a few days, but I'm starting to feel better and am getting excited about the months to come.
Saturday was a great day because we had a barbeque at my house for family and some friends and then I got to go out that night for a lot of dancing! I just wish I wouldn't have been too worn out to go the the picnic on Monday so I could've seen more people and explored the picnic a bit. But it was really nice chilling at home with the family on Monday, too.
Saturday also was a great day because I ran 5 miles for the first time like ever! I ran it in 65 minutes which is better than what I've been doing. I will be running 5.5 today and then a 10K on Saturday! Also, I'm running in a 5K race on Sunday for my friend Hannah's friend who died of lung cancer. So this week is full of funny I guess!!
Work isn't quite as crazy this week-- last week I worked 55 OT Hours and I still got off 5 hours early on Friday to fly home. I don't think I'll have too much OT this week, but every week is different I'm sure.
Some big events coming up are the 3K this weekend, my half marathon on October 17, Halloween on the 31st which I can imagine is going to be insane! And then Thanksgiving in November which I will most likely spend with Marilee and her daughters. Then my one year anniversary at work is December 7-- not sure what the plan is after that, but I do know that I will have Christmas through New Years off with pay so I will be home for that-- if not moving back to MO by then! Don't have any news on that yet-- still waiting to hear.
My flight home was delayed and I had a connecting on in Phoenix that I had to literally RUN RUN RUDOLPH like Home Alone to. I was the last one on the plane before they closed the door. Good thing I've been training for a marathon, eh??
Anyway, I have 21 days left to raise $500! I'm really nervous about it, but I'm thinking that my birthday is the day before the 30th so at least I can use my birthday money if I have to.
Anyway-- just keep chuggin' along, peeps.
XOXO
