Well let me just say life is getting pretty good. Skiing was an unbelievable experience. We went on a "singles" bus that left at 4:45 in the morning from Walnut Creek and we got to Lake Tahoe around 930. Since I was the only one on the bus that was taking a class I didn't see any of them all day because I was on the other side of the mountain. There were ten people in my ski class and I was BY FAR the best one. I only fell once during lessons when we were going down this drop off from the plateau we were practicing on. Only three of us from our class got to go on the bunny slopes and I waited at the bottom for five minutes for the other two guys to make it down with the instructors help. I watched them fall every two feet and it was pretty hilarious. I guess maybe I'm a natural because I thought it was as easy as rollerblading! Anyway, I went down a few more times and then it had started to snow really bad and since I didn't have goggles I decided to call it a day and turn in my equipment since we were leaving in about an hour. All in all, it was a really great trip and I can't wait to go back!
Then this past week, Aunt Lisa was here!! It was such a great week because I stayed with her in her hotel and we went to different places for dinner all week. It was just so great to hang out with her. Then Friday I went and stayed with Jan and Dave. We went to a tranny bar and it was sooo fun! They totally look like women! Then we went to BOC which stands for Bar on Church(street) and they have poles for pole dancing and ropes to swing on-- we didn't get that wild but it was fun.
On Saturday, we went shopping on Haight st which is my FAVORITE part of SF! The shops were so awesome and I think I'll be going back next weekend to do some more shopping! Haight Ashbury is where the original hippies originated and you can definitely tell!! Then we went to a wine tasting which wasn't too shabby either-- then we went to THE OCEAN! It was so great-- we didn't even realize that the tsunami effect was going to be happening, but man were those waves big!! It was just so gorgeous and I plan on going back there next weekend, too. Then we went back to their place and watched the end of Footloose and Michael, went to dinner, and then I watched really old movies until like 2 in the morning and they were SOOOO good! Sometimes I wish I would've been alive back then! I watched "The Stage Door" that had Katherine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers and Lucille Ball. Oh and we watched "Down With Love" with Rene Zellweger... it was good, too. Yesterday we went to brunch at this halfway house which was actually really, really nice. And Dave took me back to Berkeley for the first time since Tuesday! I had tons of mail when I got home so it kind of felt like Christmas! haha... This week is pretty steady at work, but I plan on getting back into shape starting today. I decided to cut out red meat, soda, and sugary drinks from my diet. I have 15 weeks until I'm in a wedding! Time to get with it!!!!
I also decided I'm going to do something San Franciscany every week while I'm here-- looking for one of those books that tells you all these different things to do.
Can't wait for Amanda to get here!! Then Mom will be here two weeks after that and then Jennifer is coming out, too!!! Yay! :-)
Life is goooood.-- Still miss my puppy though.
xoxo,
AA
Sounds like so much fun. I hope you didn't laugh too hard or loud at the people in your ski class that had a hard time...that would be me.
