Half-Marathon or Bust!!!

Some things you just can't do alone-- and putting together my new futon that arrived a day early is one of them!! Thank goodness for my new roommate, Teresa. I'm very excited about my new futon-- really, really cute and pretty comfortable, too. Which is good since I will be sleeping on it when my parents come to visit.

I went to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Team in Training tonight. I am more excited than ever to start training for this half-marathon, but now I am scared to ask people to help me raise enough money for it. I have to raise at least $2100 for the race... They are supposed to send me a website tomorrow that will be set up for my donations to go through so I can send that link out to people I guess and then send out letters. I hate asking for money, but this is such a good cause and really its for me to prove to myself that I can do something like this. It'll be the toughest thing I've ever done, that's for sure. Our kick-off event is on July 24 and then we start training that Tuesday, but I would like to be back up to running two miles straight by then... so I need to step it up this weekend. I did feel better today though when I found out no one there had ran in a marathon before and some of them were beginner runners.

It's going to be amazing program and an amazing feeling once I have raised this money-- 25% of it goes to pay for my race costs and 75% goes to Research, Patient Services and LLS Education. I will post donation information soon if anyone is interested. I am even more excited and proud to be fundraising for the LLS because my family has recently been touched by a Leukemia case. My "step grandma" Penny has been receiving treatments for blood cancer, but I am happy to say she is doing great.

I will have to call her tomorrow to tell her the big news. Anyway, that's the news here. Work is still crazy, but has really been awesome this week with just me, Brad and Hannah. Tomorrow is Hannah's last day so we will be sadly celebrating into the night tomorrow. Then back to working out and exlay on the drinksay. :-) Okay, I'm going to bed now-- buh bye.
