Let's start a riot...

It's amazing the difference in my attitude this week. Now that I'm caught up with most of my projects at work, or I should say I am progressing with them, I am not stressed and actually am looking forward to going to work. Don't get me wrong, I've always liked this job, but sometimes it's pretty stressful. I have been really motivated lately with work and some with working out-ha- and it makes me feel a lot better.

I didn't really do anything for the Holiday weekend, but I think the downtime was good for me. Most times, especially when I'm home, the weekends that are supposed to be for relaxing are spent doing the opposite, leaving me exhausted to start the week. I think it also helps that this week is only a 4-day week.

I have my LLS informational meeting tomorrow after work, so that will be another thing to keep me occupied. I'll hopefully meet some cool people with similar interests as me, and also be able to volunteer which is the kind of work I was born to do.

Mom and Dad booked their flights! They will be here late Friday, July 30! I'm so excited!! I had a blast last time when mom came out, and it'll be even more fun with Dad here. My Momma takes care of me... but my Dad gets my sense of humor better than anyone... well besides my brother. I've never seen a family with so many inside jokes or sarcastic comments-- one of the things I miss most about home. That and my puppy dog. But this is where I need to be right now-- This job is too important to let homesickness distract me from what I came here to do.

We only have three of us at the SF office this week because there are potential riots that are going to take place on BART once a verdict is made in this court case involving a police officer who is on trial for shooting and killing a man on BART last year. I'm so glad I don't have to ride BART anymore-- I got to work in 18 minutes today.. That's amazing.

I'm going to try to start writing on here more-- I think my posts are boring, but then I'm reminded that anyone who reads this has no idea what's going on out here so I might as well write about those things even if I don't find them that interesting. So far, this blog is more informative than entertaining, so maybe if I write more often then I will get more creative.

xoxo,
Ash
