Independence Day

I must apologize for not having posted in a while. Work has been pretty crazy busy and then I was home for over two weeks which was absolutely amazing! I never imagined I would be so sad to leave there than I was when my parents were driving me to the airport. But things are better now that I'm back here in SF. Projects at work are progressing and obviously keeping me busy. I feel like my opinion is being heard more and finally people are listening to suggestions I have. Feels good to be a part of a team.

Still struggling a bit with meeting people out here. I'm just not in the mood to go to a bar by myself to meet people or just make the effort sometimes. I do have a new roommate who is really nice and she went to the Pride Parade with me this past weekend which was just as insane as Bay 2 Breakers. The Backstreet Boys performed so that was awesome too, even if they did only play two songs.

I've decided that I need to have a goal to help me commit to my workout schedule. So I have an informational meeting next Thursday with the LLS Team in Training program. Pretty much you are donating 100 bucks to the Leukemia foundation to train once a week with a group of people and follow their workout plan to train for a half marathon! I am soooo very excited. I've always wanted to do something big like this, but never had the guts. And it works out perfectly bc I was wanting to volunteer somewhere and it looks like I'll have volunteer opportunities as well. And I'm sure I can meet some great people doing this, too.

I don't really have any plans to celebrate the holidays this weekend, but that will be okay. I should sleep in and work out and do some errands... not have a plan. Will definitely be thinking of everyone back home this weekend. First time I will miss going out on the boat in soo long.

Looking forward to another life changing adventure with the halfmarathon training-- it's time I do something with that aspect of my life. I'm ready to live the life I've been dreaming of and this is my first step for many reasons.

Happy 4th! Love you guys!
