My life fits into four boxes, two large suitcases, a small suitcase and my briefcase.
While I try to enjoy these last few weeks of living in California, I can't stop thinking about the future. I'm getting ready to start over again-- I'm having many of the same thoughts I had last year at this exact time. Actually I just looked it up-- I received my offer letter on the same date that I'm moving home. I can't believe it's been a year. I've lived in San Francisco, California for almost a year. I've worked for IBM exactly eleven months from today. It's insane everything that I've learned at work and in general in that amount of time.
While it is my idea and wish to move back to the Midwest, the thought of moving to another place where I know no one brings back a few emotions. I'm wondering the same things I wondered then... I'm making the same arrangements, considering gym options and living situations, changing my address to an unknown one, wondering what my coworkers are going to be like, if I'll meet some cool people to hang out with... I never thought I'd be worried about making friends, but since it didn't go like I thought it would out here then that kind of makes me uneasy. But this place I'm going is nothing like where I've been this past year.
It's funny-- even though I share the beliefs of those who live out here in the West Coast and probably have a lot more in common with those out here, I just don't click or get along with them like I do people back east.
All I know is things are going to be different. A really really great different!
I get home the morning of November 24th to close on my loan on Grandpa's car... I'm going to own my first car, a 2006 Maxima! I'm very excited!!! Can't wait to get home and see everyone.
Work hasn't really been too bad-- just maintaining projects and making arrangements for me to change positions. I'm going to Sonoma with Jan and Dave next weekend as kind of a going away trip-- pretty excited about that. Then just a week and a few days until I move! Craziness... Okay, that's all I got. Pretty boring stuff.
Neat site Ash...Crazy to hear about everything you have or had going on..pretty cool too. Congrats on the new job, it's nuts to see where some people end up. Good luck with everything!
