Mommy and Me

Hellllllllo. I haven't been updating as often as I would like-- not that anybody actually reads this(besides Mal!) It's Saturday night and I have one snoring mom sleeping next to me. I guess I can't blame her-- I think I've worn and stressed her out enough already this weekend. And we still have 36 more hours left... okay we ONLY have that much time left. That's the thing... I wish for the days and weeks to go by for my visitors to get here and then it seems like it only flies when they're here! It might also be because I make an itinerary for every visit but that's just bc I want to make sure they are seeing everything they need to!

Before I get into Mom's visit, you should know work is going fantastic! I really love my job-- just wish it was a permanent one so I don't always have to wonder about where I'll be next year. We had a huge presentation this past week to the head boss and it went sooo well that she gave everyone on my team a comp day! I will be using that when Jen and Beth come out here in a few weeks for the Cards series! I also had a really good talk with one of my bosses about my future and also about my situations in June. Keep your fingers crossed bc I'll be finding out shortly if I'll be able to work from Missouri for the two weeks between the weddings I'm in! But if I do get to be in MO those two weeks then I will be getting my wisdom teeth out as well. :-( Not cool.

Mom got in on Thursday night and I met her at the airport where we got our rental car from Enterprise and headed to my house in Berkeley. On Friday, Mom hung out in Berkeley while I went to work until about 3 and then headed back to meet up with her. It was rainy all day and then cleared up at night so we drove to Sausalito. Here's the thing-- I forgot to make sure the GPS was having us go the Northern route instead of into the city. We literally sat in traffic and went .2 miles in over 45 minutes!!! We left my house at 445 and didn't get to Sausalito until 7! On the way back it only took us 35 minutes! Crazines. Anyway, we went to eat at a seafood place on the water and we both bought SF jackets in a little shop there.

Today we went to eat at this really good breakfast place in Berkeley and then to Target for a little shopping(biggest Target of your dreams!) Then we headed to Muir Woods National Monument which is the red woods and it was sooo gorgeous! Next we went up above the Golden Gate Bridge and then to Ocean Beach and walked on the sand and mom attempted to collect sanddollars but only got bits and pieces. Then we just headed back to Berkeley, ordered a pizza and laid around. Pretty tired and will be going to bed as soon as I post this. Mom is already there obviously! Oh and her being stressed is bc of the driving in California. Since I don't drive here and only take a train I have no idea how to get anywhere... if we didn't have to GPS we'd be screwed! haha....

Tomorrow we are taking BART in to where I work and then taking a double decker bus tour around the city and then a night tour of alcatraz. Should be a good day-- but it's going to rain :( We will just have to make the most of our last day together before Mom heads back to MO on Monday.
